Child Assets (mobile)

What it is

Child assets are a way to link multiple assets together by assigning a hierarchy.

Where I can find it

When viewing an asset on mobile, the blue bar at the top of the screen can scroll from right to left. One of the options on that bar is “Child Assets”, where you can view all children of the asset you are currently viewing.

Required licensing

Any account with an Asset Management license and the proper permissions

Use case

A lifting and rigging company rents out cranes to construction crews. They track the entire crane for their customer, but also want to track each piece for when they need to be replaced or re-certified. By making each piece of the crane a child asset to the parent crane asset, they can do that.
