    TESSALink Web - Check In/Out

    TessaLink has released a check in/check out function for the web, desktop, and mobile applications. This feature allows you to check assets out to specific users, see whether an asset is currently checked in or out, and sort assets by checked out status and who certain assets are assigned to currently (web only). 

     

    Permissions

    To use this feature, you will need the appropriate permissions

    1. Go to app.tessalink.com on Google Chrome and log in

    2. On the left hand menu, go to Settings-> Users

    3. Click the blue "Search" button

    4. Click on the name of the person who you want to enable permissions for

    5. Scroll down and check the "Asset Check Out/In History" if you want them to be able to run a report on what was checked in and out.

    6. Choose the "Asset Management" license and check the "Check-In" and "Check-Out"

    7. In the top right, click the save button

    8. Have the user log out, then log back in.

     

    Usage

    This part will be for basic usage with assets and searches.

    Updating a single asset

    1. On the left hand menu, go to Asset Management-> Assets

    2. Search for an asset that you want to update

    3. Click on the asset to go to the asset details page

    4. On the bottom row of tabs, go to "Check-Out/In"

    5. Click "Check Out"

    6. Choose the person that you want to check this asset out to. Click "Check Out".

    7. When the asset is ready to be checked back in, click "Check In"

    Updating multiple assets

    1. On the left hand menu, go to Asset Management-> Assets

    2. Search for assets that you want to update

    3. Click the checkbox next to each asset that you want to check out to a single person

    4. In the top right, click the mass action button, and "Check-Out/In"

    5. Click "Check-Out"

    Note: if you see a check mark next to any of the assets on this screen, it means they are already checked out. You need to click the minus next to those assets, as you cannot check out an asset that is already checked out. 

    Searching for all checked out/in assets

    1. On the left hand menu, go to Asset Management-> Assets

    2. To search all assets that are checked in or checked out, choose the appropriate option from the "Check Operation Type". If you want to see all of the assets checked out to a particular user, set "Check Operation Type" to "Check-Out" and set the "Checked-In from / Checked-Out by" to that user.
